LAODICIA: THE TEACHING AND INFORMATION BRANCH OF GOD.

Welcome! In this blog post, we shall explore the history and significance of the Church at Laodicea, as mentioned in the Bible.

The fifth key of Laodicea; Revelation 3: 19a, As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: is the gateway key that identifies this church as the teaching arm of God. This is the code of the teacher and information minister of God, to correct and reprove the wrongdoer as an act of love.

This code demands that teachers discipline their pupils as corrective action. I have brought it early to hasten and encourage everyone reading this blog post, that Laodicea is indeed the teaching ministry among the seven mansions of God.

We will delve into its spiritual significance as the symbol of the branch of God saddled with the responsibility of teaching or know-how. We shall also explain how it serves as a source of information and guidance for believers and non-believers alike in the universe.

It is important to understand that the symbolic meaning of the seven churches, the seven golden candlesticks of God is the template for how God organized his organizational structure.

The 7 churches in Revelation
The 7 Branches of God

Our focus today, however, is on the branch that educates and informs us about what God wants us to know, his ministry of education, information, and orientation. This is christened Laodicea. It is the worship house of the prophets or ambassadors of God.

All teachers no matter the branch of knowledge they may engage in, belong to this house of God. Of course, as you will see, some of the teachers are higher than the prophets. They may be cherubs or ordinary angels.

There are also teachers below the level of prophets. We start walking with God from the second wheel of the zodiac and upwards. So yes, teachers come from all walks of life and from different levels of development on the Human Development Index of God.

The Church at Laodicea was founded by Epaphras, a disciple of Paul, in the first century CE. It was located in a wealthy and prosperous city that was famous for its textile production, banking, and medical school.

The city also had a rich cultural and religious life, with temples dedicated to various gods and goddesses, as well as an imperial cult that honored the Roman emperor as a god.

First, let's take Christ’s letter to Laodicea.

CHRIST’S LETTER TO LAODICEA

Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Before we explain the meaning of the keys of Laodicea, let us list them.

THE KEYS OF LAODICIA, THE TEACHING AND INFORMATION BRANCH OF GOD.

1. The first key, Revelation 3: 14a. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write;

2. The second key, Revelation 3: 14b. These things saith the Amen,

3. The third key, Revelation 3: 14c. the faithful and true witness,

4. The fourth key, Revelation 3: 14d. the beginning of the creation of God.

5. The fifth key, Revelation 3: 19a. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:

6. The sixth key; Revelation 3: 19b. be zealous therefore, and repent.

7. The seventh key, Revelation 3: 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

THE SPIRITUAL MEANING OF THE KEYS OF LAODICEA

 1. The first key; Revelation 3: 14 and unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; identifies the head of the church of the teaching and information branch of God.

Angel of the church of the Laodiceans=Head angel of Laodicea, the branch of God responsible for information, orientation, knowhow, or teaching.

2. The second key; Revelation 3: 14b These things saith the Amen,

The Amen is an affirmation in human form, but by God, it is that which shall be done but affirmed, acknowledged and spelled out in certainty as done in the present by God.

WHAT IS THE AMEN?

We can sum up the Amen, ‘it is done’, in a hierarchical order as the pronouncement and endorsement of God as well as the affirmation by his angels, saints and all the creatures of God in truth.

Let us look at it Biblically, how the Amen, the proclamation of God [Father, son, and the spirit], is concurred by his creatures in the following passage.

Revelation 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

3.The third key: Revelation 3: 14c the faithful and true witness,

The code of faithfulness and truth. The worshippers in Laodicea stand between God and man. They are ambassadors of God representing not only man but also God. This job description requires both faithfulness and truth, hence their code of representing God truthfully and faithfully.

4. The fourth key: Revelation 3: 14d the beginning of the creation of God;

Each time God makes a creation, he has to station his teachers among us to advance civilization among the population.

The same thing he did to mankind when he divided the table of nations, he divided his cherubs among us to be teachers in all fields of knowledge.

Deuteronomy 32: 8 when the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance; when He

separated the sons of mankind, He set up the boundaries of the peoples, according to the number of the cherubs of Elohim1. 9 For the portion of YAHWEH is His people; Jacob

So, the angels he placed among us as teachers are Laodiceans.

5. The fifth key; Revelation 3: 19a As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:

This is the revealing key that identifies Laodicea as the teaching branch of God. This code is your motto as a teacher.

This is the code of the teacher and information minister of God, to correct and reprove the wrongdoer as a form of love.

This code demands that teachers discipline their pupils as corrective action.

3. The sixth key; Revelation 3: 19b. be zealous therefore, and repent.

Zeal is a code here. A teacher must perform his work with zeal to motivate his students.

4. The sevent key is; Revelation 3: 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Christ knocking at the door
Christ knocks at your Heart.

This key means that if we listen to these teachers, they will dine on the doctrine of God together with us. They will open the book of knowledge to us provided we are obedient to the precepts of God.

This is the house of the prophets and the throne of Jesus.

CHRIST’S SUPERVISORY REPORT

This is the only branch of God without any praise from God.

Are you a teacher after God's heart? Then don't be discouraged, your heavenly rewards await you. Are you a teacher only after your belly? Be sure that you are poor. Your riches do not extend beyond your material benefits. What a great loss!

REPRIMAND

Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

They use their knowledge to profit themselves only. It is not true that prophets work in religious instruction alone.

Prophets work in all fields of knowledge, all of the seven golden candlesticks, as the secret meaning of this Laodicean symbol reveals. Note that the cross, the symbol of the mocked teacher and savior, Jesus is inserted into the seven golden candlesticks!

Secret symbol of Laodicea, the teachers of God.
Secret symbol of Laodicea, the teachers of God.

Consider that Christ is addressing engineers, doctors, scientists, administrators, financial experts, and other experts in many other fields of knowledge. Bankers, especially, use their knowledge only for financial gain for themselves and their employers.

The teacher especially the one that is working as a pioneer must be ready to be ridiculed and mocked like Jesus.

Like his master Jesus, he or she must acknowledge that he is far ahead of his students, who though of little knowledge, see themselves as better off than their teacher.

The teacher is that Christ, who comes to save the world but will be made to carry his own cross on which he will be nailed. Socrates faced the same problem and Christ said we must be zealous thou in the face of this impending doom. and he will resurrect us at the last day.

king Cyrus like the prophet Deborah are some of the examples of teachers working in this branch of God. The Cyrus cylinder is an example of how God teaches us. Cyrus was a teacher of the law from the throne of Jesus, Laodicea.

Cyrus cylinder
Cyrus cylinder: Trigger for the declaration of human rights

Some Iranians claim the law on the Cyrus cylinder is theirs. But others working from this same branch of God like Hammurabi and before that, the ancient black Egyptians, had similar laws all emanating from the same source, Christ!

God drafted in Deborah the wife of Lapidoth, a prophetess, to teach the Israeli nobles the art and science of law, administration, warfare, and bravery. Note her ability to read the stellar constellations as waging war against Sisera, the military commander of Jabin, king of Canaan. Deborah's work can be christened walking with and trusting God against all odds.

Can you imagine Jehovah, sending a female prophet to teach men and women judicial administration, military science, and governance, while Allah, his adversary bans women from riding cars in Saudi Arabia and women in Afghanistan from going to school and having any public employment?

The Church at Laodicea is relevant for us today because it reminds us of the dangers of being lukewarm in our faith. Jesus wants us to be hot or cold, not indifferent or half-hearted. He wants us to be passionate and committed to him, not to the things of this world. He wants us to be humble, not proud.

He wants us to be open and receptive to his voice, not closed and deaf to his words, lest we fall to the hands of Allah, like the Saudis, Iranians, and Afghanistans, and be used as weapons against our sons and daughters.

COUNSEL

Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Some of them open their third eye with artificial means in order to see things in the spirit realm before it manifests here on earth.

The caution: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, highlights the difficulty of working as a teacher, especially in new fields, or against evil.

Imagine that you are a high-ranking teacher in the fields of governance or the military within your country's corridors of power.

Your country, conscious of its military might is eyeing the resources of weaker countries, the same way that the United States did to Iraq. It is the same thing Putin is doing to Ukraine using the Russian military.

Would you be firm enough to teach or influence your government against going to war on account of military power, rather than sound reasons knowing that you might be declared an enemy of your country, or will you rather tactically agree to their decisions and be highly favored? This is the type of worldly riches Jesus considered poverty.

These are the kind of situations in which Jesus is talking to his teachers, the prophets expected to guide man to a better end to endure and be firm for the greater good of all.

Go back to the symbol of the Laodiceans, the teachers of God, and study it. It has a message, the cross bearer among the seven branches of God.

GOD’S REWARD TO LAODICEA, HIS TEACHERS

Revelation 3: 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

CONCLUSION

Jesus criticized the church for being lukewarm and complacent and urged them to repent and be zealous for him. He also promised to reward those who overcome their spiritual apathy with a place in his throne.

The Church at Laodicea is also an example of how God can use his people to teach and inform others about his truth and love. The church was instructed by Paul to share his letter with the neighboring church of Colossae, and to read the letter that he wrote to them (Colossians 4:16).

This shows that the church had a role in spreading the gospel and edifying other believers. The church also had a witness in the city, as evidenced by the presence of a Christian symbol on a public fountain as shown above.

This shows that the church had an influence on society, even if it was not always recognized or appreciated.
